Our Occupational Health and Safety Policy
As Pancihan Metal, we take the principle of “People First, Safety First” as the foundation of all our activities, from the manufacturing of heavy steel structures such as factory buildings, stadiums, bridges and neighborhood markets to roof and panel cladding applications, site assembly operations, transportation, lifting and work-at-height activities.
We consider protecting the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, visitors and all stakeholders who may be affected by our activities, as well as maintaining a sustainable working environment, to be among our highest corporate responsibilities.
Accordingly, rather than managing occupational health and safety (OHS) risks only after they arise, we are committed to identifying hazards in advance, eliminating risks at their source and making a safe working culture an integral part of all our activities.
Our OHS Principles and Commitments
- Zero Target for Occupational Accidents and Occupational Diseases
We work toward the goal of zero occupational accidents and zero occupational diseases by eliminating risks at their source across all our manufacturing, transportation, lifting, assembly, welding, cutting, cladding and work-at-height activities.
- Compliance with Legal Requirements and Applicable Standards
We are committed to complying with applicable national legislation, legal obligations, customer requirements and relevant national and international standards concerning Occupational Health and Safety. We aim to continuously improve our OHS management system in accordance with the requirements of applicable standards, particularly ISO 45001.
- Hazard Elimination and Proactive Risk Management
We identify hazards in advance throughout all our processes, from workshop manufacturing to site assembly. We regularly review and update our risk assessments by taking into account changes in activities, equipment, processes and site conditions. In controlling risks, we prioritize eliminating hazards and implementing collective protection measures, followed by appropriate technical and administrative controls and, where necessary, personal protective equipment.
- Safe Working Culture and Employee Participation
We believe that OHS is not solely the responsibility of management or OHS professionals, but a shared responsibility of all our employees. We encourage our employees to freely share their opinions, suggestions and feedback on OHS matters and support the reporting of hazards, non-conformities and near-miss incidents. We are committed to continuously improving employee participation, consultation mechanisms and our safe working culture.
- Training, Competence and Awareness
To ensure that a safe working culture is embraced at every level of our organization, we provide our employees, site personnel and relevant subcontractors with OHS training, job-specific briefings and awareness activities appropriate to their duties and responsibilities. We ensure that our employees have the knowledge, skills and competence required for their work, particularly for high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, hot work, welding and manufacturing activities.
- Safe Equipment, Machinery and Certified Work Equipment
We ensure that machinery, equipment, lifting devices, work equipment and personal protective equipment used in manufacturing, lifting, transportation, assembly and work-at-height activities are suitable, safe and compliant with applicable standards and legislation. We carry out all necessary maintenance, inspections, tests and periodic examinations on time and do not permit the use of unsuitable or unsafe equipment.
- Work-at-Height, Lifting and Assembly Safety
Recognizing the high risks inherent in steel construction and site assembly activities, we prioritize planning and risk control, particularly in work-at-height activities, crane and lifting operations, the use of scaffolding and platforms, roof and panel applications, and material handling operations. Before starting work, we carry out the necessary site inspections, establish work permits and lifting plans, and define safe working methods. We support the authority to stop work under unsuitable weather or site conditions.
- OHS Management of Subcontractors and Suppliers
We ensure that our subcontractors and service providers manage their OHS performance in alignment with Pancihan Metal’s OHS standards. We monitor whether subcontractors and employees involved in our activities meet the required training, competence, equipment, occupational health monitoring and legal compliance requirements, and regularly monitor and evaluate site activities.
- Emergency Preparedness, Coordination and Response
We establish the necessary emergency plans, equipment and organizational structures against fires, occupational accidents, natural disasters, equipment failures, hazardous situations and other potential emergencies. We continuously improve our emergency response capabilities through drills, training and periodic inspections and ensure that our employees are aware of and prepared for emergency situations.
- Health Monitoring and Protection of Employee Health
We identify health risks arising from our employees’ work and carry out the necessary occupational health monitoring activities. In order to prevent occupational diseases and work-related health problems, we continuously assess workplace conditions and take the necessary measures to control occupational risks such as ergonomics, noise, dust, chemical exposure, vibration and similar hazards.
- Incident Reporting, Investigation and Prevention of Recurrence
We promptly record occupational accidents, near-miss incidents, hazardous situations and identified non-conformities and analyze their underlying and root causes. We aim to prevent similar incidents from recurring by implementing corrective and preventive actions based on the identified causes.
- Performance Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
We regularly monitor, measure and evaluate our OHS performance against defined objectives and indicators. We continuously improve the effectiveness of our OHS management system through internal audits, site observations, risk assessments, performance indicators, incident analyses and management reviews.
- Authority to Stop Unsafe Work
We believe that no production, delivery or commercial target is more important than human health and safety. We support stopping work that is considered unsafe, preventing work from starting until risks have been brought under control, and ensuring that all employees have the right to report hazardous situations.
- Pancihan Metal’s Commitment
As the senior management of Pancihan Metal, we are committed to providing the necessary human resources, training, equipment, time and other resources required for the implementation of this policy; establishing OHS objectives and monitoring performance; ensuring employee participation in OHS processes; and continuously improving the effectiveness of our management system.
This policy is periodically reviewed and, where necessary, updated in line with changes in our activities and legal requirements, and communicated to all our employees and relevant interested parties. At Pancihan Metal, we believe that a safe and healthy working environment is not only a legal obligation, but also a fundamental requirement for quality production, employee satisfaction, operational excellence and sustainable success.
